Happy New Year Everyone!
Aren’t you ready to hit the ground running this year? I am. To start, I will be working on my goal to read more books!! I joined the 100++ Reading Challenge where I am challenging myself to read at least 100 books this year. I finished reading “My Sister’s Keeper” by Jodi Picoult this morning. It won’t count towards the 2009 challenge since I started reading it in 2008. My first book for 2009 is “The Face” by Angela Hunt. I heard a lot of good stuff about this book so I am starting it today. Be on the lookout for my book reviews.

I think if more Americans would read we would get out of the economic downturn that we are in. If you read the newspaper articles a lot of ponzi schemes and investment losses because they did not take the time to read their contracts. We need to start reading in 2009 and beyond. Isn’t it funny how slaves were not allowed to read, but they risked their life to learn to read? Now we have the freedom to read and no one takes the time out to read consumer and employment contracts. So would that make you a modern day slave?
