About Me - Part Two

If you’ve read the ‘About Me’ section of my website www.preslaysa.com/aboutme.html you probably learned a bit about who I am. This blog will tell you more.

You see, I am always trying to figure myself out or “kaizen” myself. “Kaizen” is a Japanese term that means “continuous self improvement.” I write to understand. I invite you to embark on your own journey of self-understanding with me.

One thing I’m trying to understand is my sporadic blogging activity. For over a year, I listened to a myriad of advice on how to write a blog. Many said I should write on one particular topic in order to establish myself as an ‘expert.’ That didn’t sit too well with me for many reasons:

  1. I have many interests.
  2. Establishing myself as an ‘expert’ would inadvertantly establish a group of ‘non-experts’. (Think Madoff and those people who trusted him with their hard earned money.) That’s dangerous.

So I am not an expert. I’m just writing in order to understand things more fully. I hope that by writing about my own experiences, you’ll get some ideas of your own. If this interests you, then read on.

Back to the ‘About Me’ section.

I wrote the ‘About Me’ section of my website while I was in my twenties. Now, I am the big three-oh and panic has set in. Why? Because it’s been over a year and I haven’t written much on this blog!! AAAHHH! (I think it was because I spent the last year trying to become an expert…and I already beat that topic to death.)

So now I’m thirty (and supposedly more mature) so I make the following pledge: I, Preslaysa Williams, will try my best to blog regularly on my thoughts, ideas, ramblings, non-sensical whims, and the million other deeply wise and confusing things flitting around my brain during its non-working hours. (Once I figure out how to quantify ‘trying my best to blog regularly’, I’ll let you know.)

The next topic of discussion: my battle with clutter. Stay tuned.
