Since I have started working on renewing my mind, I’m reading more books on faith as well as the Bible. One book I read suggested that I go through the New Testament and mark every phrase in the Bible that says: ‘In Christ’, ‘In Him’, or ‘In Whom.’ The book also said that if I meditated on those scriptures for a period of time, I wouldn’t have any more identity crises!
One of the main questions that people ask themselves (either consciously or unconsciously) is: “Who am I?” Thankfully, the Bible answers that question. All searching is over.
I started searching the Scriptures and marking those phrases. Here is what I have so far. As I find more of these phrases, I’ll post it. I think there are about 140 of them. I changed the pronouns to ‘me’, ‘my’, and ‘I’ to personalize them.
From Colossians (All verses are KJV):
Col 1:14 “In Christ, I have redemption through his blood and the forgiveness of sins.”
Col 1:19 “In Christ, all fullness dwells.”
Col 2:3 “In whom are hid all treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Note: In this verse, ‘whom’ refers to Christ.)
Col 2:6-7 “As I have therefore received Christ so I walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, as I have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”
Col 2:9-13 “For in him dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And I am complete in him which is the head of all principality and power. In whom also I am circumcised with the circumcision made without hands in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ.
I am buried with him in baptism wherein I am risen with him through my faith in the operation of God who hath raised him from the dead. And I, being dead in my sins and in the uncircumcision of my flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven me all trespasses.”
Col 3:1 “If I am risen with Christ, I seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.”
Col 3:3 “For I am dead and my life is hid with Christ in God.”
